Take an active role in ocean conservation and join our team of passionate and dedicated volunteers.

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Sea Turtle Stranding Response
Volunteers assist staff with response to reports of sick or injured sea turtles in South Maui. Opportunities include both in-water and land-based response.

Coral Program
MOCMI’s coral program accepts volunteers on an as-needed basis. Volunteers assist with the propagation and care of corals.

Conservation
Volunteers assist with data collection and entry, surveying, monitoring, and reporting for MOCMI’s conservation and research projects.

Education
Volunteers conduct educational programs and represent MOCMI at outreach events and festivals.

Administrative
Volunteers assist staff with a variety of tasks related to the day-to-day operations at MOCMI.


HOW TO VOLUNTEER

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. No experience is necessary, and all training is provided.


VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Beach Cleanup Coordinator
Coordinate monthly beach and underwater cleanup events.

Outreach Coordinator
Coordinate MOCMI’s participation in festival and outreach events.

Education Coordinator
Assist in the development of MOCMI’s education programming and strategy.

Volunteer Coordinator
Assist with the recruitment, scheduling, and onboarding of MOCMI volunteers.
