Marine pollution is one of the most significant threats facing our ocean today. Join our team of marine scientists and educators as we work to protect Maui’s coastal and underwater environments.


Malama Land & Sea: Kanaha Beach Park
August 19, 2018 | 7 am – 11 am

Join MOCMI and Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii to help clean trash and litter from Kanaha Beach. Help us make this cleanup a zero-waste event! Bring your own reusable coffee mug and water bottle to enjoy free coffee and water refills. Hearty snacks will be provided. International Coastal Cleanup: Sugar Beach Reef Cleanup
September 15, 2018 | 7 am – 9 am

Join MOCMI and Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii to help clean trash from the reef at Sugar Beach. We will meet at the Kealia Boardwalk on North Kihei Road at 7:00 am. Please bring your own snorkeling gear, collection bags, and tools for cutting fishing line. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Get the Drift and Bag It: Beach Cleanup at Sugar Beach

Get the Drift and Bag It continues with a great cleanup at Sugar Beach next to the Maui Canoe Club. Join Malama Maui Nui,  Maui Ocean Center, MOC Marine Institute, Maui Brewing Co, Maui Lifeguards Association and Ma’alaea General Store to help clean Sugar Beach.
