Volunteer Opportunities

Sea Turtle Stranding Response & Rescue (No Current Openings)
On-call volunteers assist MOC Marine Institute’s staff biologists with response to reports of sick or injured sea turtles in Maui. Opportunities include both in-water and land-based response.

All MOC Marine Institute’s stranding response and rescue activities authorized under NOAA Permit: 21260.

Conservation (No Current Openings)
Volunteers assist staff biologists with data collection and entry, surveying, monitoring, and reporting for MOC Marine Insitute’s conservation and research projects.

Coral Program (No Current Openings)
MOC Marine Institute’s coral program accepts volunteers on an as-needed basis. Volunteers assist with the propagation and care of corals.

Education & Outreach (Opportunities Available)
Volunteers educate aquarium guests while stationed at MOC Marine Institute’s (MOCMI) educational kiosk,  and represent MOCMI at outreach events and festivals.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. No experience is necessary, and all training is provided.
