The Marine Institute of the Maui Ocean Center is an authorized agent of NOAA.
We are responsible for the management and coordination of the sea turtle stranding response network on Maui and rehabilitation of all critically injured sea turtles in the State of Hawai’i. Along side our stranding response and rehabilitation programs, we also collaborate with research institutions and governmental agencies to advance the understanding of sea turtles through scientific research.

The Marine Institute of the Maui Ocean Center operates the only ex-situ coral restoration nursery on Maui.
Currently, we are conducting active coral reef restoration in response to anthropogenically caused reef disturbance and collaborating on multiple cutting edge coral research projects with research institutions and governmental agencies.
